4Merrell Slip on Boots
By Forrest S. Morris Jr.
Ordered these boots first and formost as a Pull on, I have a bad habit of leaving shoes/boots untied and in some cases trip and fall my own fault of course. These boots are slip on's only because they have no laces, they are a stuggle to pull on and require some effort to pull past the heel of your foot, I would not recommend these for anyone who may have physical limitations or the strength to pull them up, hence my 4 star rating. I'll assume over the course of the winter I will break them in as I wear them everyday and we'll see by the end of the cold season how they do and if putting them on is any easier.Otherwise these boots are very well made and I expect these boots to last a long time, once on they are extremely comfortable and warm even without heavy socks, I would expect them to be even warmer with a nice pair of wool socks on a really cold day. They grip well on wet floors and reduce slipping on tile floors wet from new snow in comparison to a pair of laced Columbia's that tend to slide on wet tiled floors.I would suggest if you intend to use them with heavy socks to consider at least a 1/2 size larger than you would normally use and remember they can be a tad difficlut to put on with normal socks, so keep that in mind and consider a break in period with normal socks or do some weight lifting prior to recieving them, lol.Humor aside these are really nice boots and as they should be for the price!!!!!

5How to Put on a Pair of Boots
By Flyrodder
I nearly did NOT purchase these boots because of all the reviews complaining about the difficulty of getting these boots on and off. I'm glad I bought them anyway. First off, they look great, and if you cover the uppers with the cuffs of your jeans, corduroys, or khakis, these will kinda-almost pass for brown leather shoes (as in, you'd be fine meeting someone for a drink someplace casual, but probably not going out for a nice dinner). So far, they handle the weather and conditions great. They are warm, comfortable, grip well, and completely waterproof. Now, as for getting them on and off: these boots have no laces, no zippers, so you simply cannot expect them to go on and off like slippers. That said, they take me all of about 5 seconds longer, per boot, to get on and off than a pair of slippers. Maybe it's my experience with mountaineering and snowboarding boots, but I simply don't think it's as difficult as people on here claim. Here is what to do: sit down and put your foot into the boot and then (this is important) put the sole of the boot ON THE FLOOR. This way, you can PUSH your foot into the boot and the floor will give you the resistance you need to get it in. Now that I happily own a pair of Bergenz, I am imagining all these disgruntled reviewers, lying on their backs, trying to PULL the boots on . . . do not try this. You're still going to need to use your hands to shimmy the uppers on, but it shouldn't be that hard. One last note, another reviewer suggested going 1/2 size larger than normal, and I would agree. I usually wear 10.5 or 11, depending on the shoe and I have found that 11 fits great and gets on and off with "relative" ease. I would suggest getting 1/2 larger than the size you most often wear, but not a full size (at least to start).

4Great waterproof slip-on!
By Sean Patrick
This boot is very comfortable and looks good too. I am a size 13 with a narrowish foot and have always found Merrell fit extremely well and their sizing is very consistent. If you have ever bought any Merrell and it fit well, you are that size in every Merrell. The boot is extremely waterproof, I live on the East coast where it rains all winter, which is why I bought this for shoveling the driveway and various things you need to get outside for quickly. The insulation is nice and warm and the boot height is perfect. The boot was a little hard to slip on the first half dozen or so times, but now it slips on just right. Glad I bought this!
