5So far I'm feeling the awesome
By Mitch Horowitz
I bought these two days ago and started wearing them today in the midst of a slush storm in New York City. So far I'm loving them. The problem with most insulated snow boats is that they are heavy, clunky, and difficult to wear around for a full day when you are ducking in between the elements and the indoors. While I love my old Sorrell snow boats, they are like wearing packing crates on my feet after a while. The hype on these new Teva boots is that they fold up like shoes when you want to pack them (seems to be the case) and that they are nicely streamlined and light. The hype seems to hold up. They have a snug insulating bootie, which can be removed and worn around indoors or presumably used for running out to the car for something; the bootie fits tightly inside the outer shell boot, and is held in place by Velcro tabs. At first the fit was so snug that in order to put these on I first had to remove the bootie, insert my foot, and then slide the whole deal into the boot. But the next day I got better at wedging my foot into the whole operation at once. The point is that these are snug boots. The width is a little narrow. You might consider ordering a 1/2 size up. If you are in between sizes, I recommend going with the larger size. For example, I gravitate between a men's size 10 and 10.5. In this case, I'm very glad I ordered the 10.5. Again, this is a tapered boot. That's the appeal. While it hugs close to your foot, it also has a rugged feel. So far, it has proven nicely water repellant. As I am writing this from the wilds of Manhattan, I can't yet speak to how well the boat insulates in the late-winter cold. Supposedly it's good to minus-25 -- I may never find out; but the Thinsulate bootie does seem to provide good protection. You probably shouldn't count on being able to wear an ultra-thick wool hiking sock with these. Again, they are slender. I am comfortably wearing a Wigwam Men's Hiking/Outdoor Pro Length Sock, which is nice because: a) it is a bit thinner than the typical wool hiking sock but still provides good cushion/warmth, and b) if you're into vegan/vegetarian clothing, you will appreciate that it is a synthetic sock, requiring no harvesting of wool. One last observation: Nothing shoots down your preparation for a wet or wintry day than having to keep re-tucking your pant legs into your winter boot. These boots are beautifully designed so that you can tuck your pants in between the bootie and the shell and then seal down the whole thing, including the boot laces, with one master Velcro strap. It feels great and seems very snug. In terms of design and versatility, I'm loving these.

1Not comfortable beyond a very narrow range of temps
By Steve Brown
****UPDATE AFTER 1 MONTH OF USE IN TORONTO, ONTARIO, CANADA****These boots are very light. That was my primary reason for getting them and they deliver in spades here. Excellent weight for mountain biking in the winter. The soles also grip pedals quite well.On the negative side, I feel that these boots are only good for a narrow range of temperatures. In relatively mild winter weather here (20 deg. Fahrenheit), my toes get chilly within 45 - 60 min. That happens while wearing quality wool socks, and walking in powder snow with no liquid slush. Maybe 200 weight Thinsulate isn't enough for our climate here. Oddly, my I have a pair of (very cheap) basic insulated rubber boots from Walmart made of similar amounts of Thinsulate that keep my toes dryer and warmer hands down.I find that in warmer weather (say around 32 deg F) my feet get soaked with sweat. This probably happens because the GoreTex is only for the upper and the thinsulate booties don't wick fast enough. Besides, the lower parts of the boot are airtight rubber which of course doesn't wick.In any slushy or wet weather, the leak (see below) quickly makes me miserable that I bought these boots. All in all, if I could go back in time, I would stay away from these boots. I could have gotten a few pairs of good socks and basic boots that would have been a wiser choice.****ORIGINAL REVIEW****I fell in love with the design of these boots after seeing how they are so lightweight, packable and include booties.Even better was the goretex and velcro closure up top. However the execution fell somewhat short as my boots, on their inaugural walk let in a slow leak when in puddles of about 1/2 to 1 inch depth. One boot lets the water in much more rapidly than the other. As for customer service, Teva answers emails rapidly but does not make it easy to ship the product back. I would need to ship the product at my expense for them to inspect it.Recommendation is not to buy and to think twice before buying Deckers Outdoor products which may not have the same customer service as you may expect in case something goes wrong.

2Your feet are wet all the time
By Sergey V. Degtyarev
1. My feet are wet even if I just go to the office. I can't imagine whole day at ski resort. I have spare dry socks in my car for days in this boots =)Support sad it's condensation. My past Buffin Bison have no any condensation inside during whole day.2. Flat hard base not very good for long walking. This boots need warm orthopedic insole if you plan use it for more than half an hour.3. But design is really good.
