I wore these boots for the first time on a 10-mile hike (elevation gain of 4155 ft) and was really pleased with them. I like a heavy-duty (expedition-grade) boot because of the rockiness of the trails I hike, and these performed flawlessly. Although larger than a typical hiking boot, that's because of the insulated booties inside. Temperatures only got down to a little below freezing, but under such conditions, wearing my normal boots, my feet start to get cold in only three miles or so. My feet did not get cold at all, and when the temperature warmed up to the low 70s during the day, my feet did not sweat. I was surprised that they were no heavier than the normal boots I wear yet provided all the support and insulation I needed.

The boots look great and feel great, easy to put on, nice touch with the inner booty, just slip out at the back door and keep them on indoors. Even after wearing 10-12 hour shifts for my job, keep my feet at a perfect temperature all the time, never gets too hot, even when worn indoors. Size is almost right-on, I wear Merrell Isotherm 6 at size 11 and ordered these at size 11.5 due to inner booty and they are a perfect fit. I ordered myself a second pair, I like them that much. I highly recommend these boots. Also the inner booties have removable insoles which can be changed to your preferred brand of insoles, if so desired.
