Best winter boot you can buy for recreational outdoor activity. You'll only need a more expensive winter boot if you plan on attaching ice climbing crampons to them.

Great boots. After I was able to get them broke in, they were very comfortable, warm and they have a very acceptable appearance as I wear them for work as a salesman in a very cold and snowy winter climate.

Hiking boots usually need to be broken in, and while these aren't really hiking boots, they were quite comfortable right away. A little stiff at first, but after only a mile or so, they felt good. Padded, warm, and with good support. The faux carbon fiber sides do have one problem: They crease where your foot flexes. In between the bottom two lace loops. Doesn't hurt things, but it makes the boot look a bit worn right away. A pretty small price to pay, tho. I'll see how they perform in a bit more extreme conditions after an Alaskan cruise later this Spring.
