3Good for what it is, but not for the price
By James
I was pretty psyched to get a pair of Palladium boots after seeing them in photos, and knew I wanted to get one of their taller "baggy" style leather boots to replace a pair of work boots I'd used for about two years. After seeing the price of the Baggy Leather Knit go from $140 to $70, I jumped at the chance to get one. When I got them in the mail...well, I wasn't too excited. For starters, I was a little skeptical about the glued-on outsoles. Rather than being stitched on the way you'd see on a pair of Doc Martens or Red Wings or whatever, these are glued on like you'd see on a sneaker by Converse or Vans. These WILL come loose with time; it's not a matter of if, but when. On a pair of sneakers that's not so bad, but with leather boots you expect a little more care put into things like that. They have yet to come loose for me yet, but like I said, it's a matter of time. The rubber sole itself isn't much to get excited about either. It's less dense and durable than it should be and after one day - one day! - of work it started to wear down on the heel. Nothing major or noticeable, but it was there, and it was after one day.The boots came folded in the "down" position in the box, leaving a big horizontal crease in the leather right off the bat. The leather was almost comically dry, too, although that may be due to conditions during shipping. You should definitely put some moisturizer onto these BEFORE walking around in them, unless you want some serious creasing right off the bat.Anyway, long story short, they're alright, and these are really meant more as a sort of swag/hypebeast streetwear boot than a work boot. For 70 bucks? Not bad at all. For 140? Well, it's your money, you decide.
