I ordered these boots from Amazon.com because they had a better price. I really love the look of these boots however; upon receiving them and trying them on I noticed that the throat (where the boot laces start near the toe area) of one of the boots was sewn further back on the vamp (toe area of the boot) which caused that boot to fit improperly. Apparently, the person sewing these boots together was not paying attention. When placing these boots side by side it was quite obvious that one boots throat was sewn further back than the other. That being said, I returned them due to defective construction to exchange for another pair in the same color (Expresso). Upon receiving the second pair boots, I experienced the same issue so I immediately re-packaged them and returned them for my money back. I noticed these boots are made in Cambodia so I don't know if these boots were irregular boots from the beginning and that's why they are less expensive than buying them directly from catfootwear.com or not. In any case, I still love the look of these boots so I will try to purchase them directly from catfootwear. I will rate the return policy at Amazon 5 star because they make it very easy to do and returning them via their shipping label made it a breeze. Unfortunately, I had to do it two times. Amazon needs to have a phone number to call in cases like these, it makes for better customer service. When I opened the box, I thought "This is it?" Well, after a month of wearing, I can honestly say that these are one of the best pair of boots that I have owned. This is coming from a Marine (91-95). The out soles are very quiet and sturdy. I had to black them out with some polish to cover the brown heel and the entire boot polishes up well and even takes a spit shine. I threw away the stock laces and replaced them with paracord which fits quite well. The sides are canvass and seem to be lined for warmth. I am curious if the canvass will still stand straight after time. I had to burn the small threads from the inside that were hanging. I pulled out the stock inserts and replaced them with some Superfeet Wool insoles. They always do one of two things; make a good boot better or make a bad boot horrible.With a bit of work (polish, laces, trimming the threads and insoles) these boots will work their way to be your "Go To" boot. I recommend them highly.Oh, they fit true to size.

I bought these boots and I just love them. They are comfortable out of the box, well made, with nice arch support. They are warm, but they allow your feet to breathe
