I bought these sight unseen online based only on the looks and the reviews I found for these boots, always a chancy thing to do. But I'm glad I did. I don't have very wide feet, and many boots are wider than they need to be, which makes them less stable and less comfortable. These are just perfect.Many boots actually feel like you are wearing weights, and when running/jumping actually seem to increase the impact. Not so with these, they are very light for their size, and almost feel springy. Reminds me of a new pair of running shoes, other than the higher cuff of course. I work as a driver for Fedex, so I'm running and jumping out of my truck constantly, and I can do that for 12 hours straight without any discomfort.I can confirm that these are waterproof out of the box, at least to two inches of standing water, or snow 6 inches deep. I bought a can of water repellent spray to enhance this ability and hopefully extend the life of the boots, but even without that they did keep my feet totally dry.If you are out for an extended period in cold weather, and aren't moving around, you'll need heavier insulation, but these are great if you want to be active, or live in less extreme climates. I'd say when active, they are good down to 0 degrees F, or maybe 20 degrees if you are just sitting around.The lacing system is pretty nice too, you don't have to shoehorn your way into them. The laces have a center loop below the hooks, so there is plenty of slack with the tongue without having to loosen the laces way down. (If that doesn't make sense, that is probably because I don't know the proper terms...take my word for it, though, they are quick to put on and take off both.)The only downside I noticed was the break in period, the cuff is higher than I am used to, so it took me a while to get used to. During the break-in period they were uncomfortable for more than 5-6 hours of use at one time, but it only took about four or five days to make them the most comfortable boots I have ever owned, so that's not much of a drawback.I cannot recommend these highly enough.
