The steel toe is perfect for and the the fit is comfortable and true to size. One minor thing I noticed is that the site listed the heel as being a one inch heel, but I measured it myself and the thing is about 1.75 inches, so be aware of that if you want to buy it. It takes a little getting used to whenever you have to squat with such a high heel because it feels like you're on your toes almost. I once had a bad accident where a nail stuck in a piece of scrap 2x4 pierced the bottom of my old work boots and went halfway through my foot, so I highly recommend the thick, yet flexible rubber soles on this boot.

I'm a construction worker, so, I'm hard on boots. Plus, I have to wear them all the time, so I want a boot that is comfortable and looks cool. These are such boots. Very good quality.I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the sole isn't as grippy as I would like on hard surfaces. I realize they are probably designed more for traction in mud, but I think the designers may have sacrificed too much grip on hard surfaces in making them. Also note that if you are new to Carolina boots, you will have to get used to the heel which is a little higher than most boots.
