5great boot for the price
By Derrik Mantel
This boot has all the features I was looking for in a lighter to mid-weight boot.Things you will like:1. Seam Sealed/Waterproof2. rated to -40 degrees3. 200 gram thinsulate insulation4. Not-so-bulky (or wide)profile.5. Single molded rubber shell6. triple stitch seams between the leather upper and rubber lower.7. Leather loops to pull on the boot at the back.8. They are seven to eight inches high on the ankle/calf. The description says 8.5 inches but the first inch or so is the sole of the shoe measured from the ground to the very top of the boot.I have a pair of 12 year old Heavy Duty Sorel Caribou boots that are too big to wear regularly for commuting or running errands. (Sorels work great while running the snowthrower or long days outside)These Kamik Wausau boots are a great complement to them.I tried on numerous competitors' boots and found this one to be a good set of features for the price. Features + price + perceived quality = value.Areas to improve:1. offer a wider range of colors2. offer a air cushion arch support/in-sole for even greater comfort. (they are nice as is...but why not try?)Final thoughts on fit:I wear a 8.5 medium shoe. I could not find a boot that really fit well. I have a size 9 in these boots and the fit is the best I have found in a winter insulated boot. I think this means they run small vs large.Enjoy!

5comfortable for urban wear
By P. Hall
My wife got me these for Christmas. They've been great. They are extremely comfortable. I've worn them doing the usual chores - shoveling snow, running errands etc and they are easy on, easy off. I've also worn them during two extended outings. The first was an NFL playoff game. It was about 15 degrees. I walked about 2 miles in them and I was on my feet the entire game. I had no soreness or stiffness in my feet the day after. This weekend, my car was snowed in, but we live in an urban neighborhood. I walked 2 miles in them running to several stores. Again, no soreness. Great traction as well. They're not perfect rugged hiking boots but they are great for winter urban use.

4Good boot - better price
By Rev. Col. Cool
The boots arrived before the estimated window (despite the pre-Christmas rush and a winter storm in our area) and were immediately put to use. After four hours in sub-20 degree weather, the boots were still comfortable, even if the ankle was a little stiff. This loosened up after about ten hours in them.I usually wear a 9.5, but the 10s fit comfortably. Others have reviewed their material/make.Concerns: The boots are not a 'foundational' boot so it takes some getting used to but after constant hours of walking (indoors and outside on ice/snow, uneven landscapes and pavement) there was no discomfort.Plus: Even after hours in cold/wet snow and sub 20 degree temperatures wearing nothing but dress-socks under them, my feet were warm (but not hot), dry, and comfortable. The price was reasonable, especially for waterproof boots with this kind of traction. They "broke in" very quickly.I have already recommended them to friends.
