Nice looking boot but not much support.

This is a nice looking boot but gives you no support at all. I tried 3 different Ralph Lauren boots and all had very poor support - especially around the ankle area.I recommend to get this boot 1/2 size bigger because the shearling lining/second insole is a kind of slipper in the boot itself and makes the boot very tight.I got a similar Timberland boot instead which gives you much better support and the quality of the used material feels more sturdy too.

not natural shearling inside

I thought shearling is shearling.But RL thinks otherwise. Shearling in these boots means only the upper part on the inner boot (that comes out, by the way, to dry it) and the rest part of the inner boot is made of some artificial fabric. Considering the rubber lower part of the boot, it is not that warm, as expected.I was looking fur natural fur winter boots that really keep feet warm in winter, and trusted the description which appeared to be untrue.Quite frustrated.

Tropical Storm Rain Boot, Good boot but not insulated

Good rain boot. They run a tad large as I wear a 9.5 and a 9 fit about right. If you wear thick socks they should be OK. Look for a sale. I bought mine from a major dept. store when they were on sale and got them for 40 percent off list on sale with a $ coupon. Ample room to tuck your pants in if you want to keep them dry. This is a good compromise if you don't want to spend the money on Hunter short rain boots. These are not insulated, so if you want to wear them in the winter or in snow, thermal socks are a must. I bought these for year 'round use, so being non-insulated is not a problem.

Design flaws

I ordered these boots as it is snowing in Afghanistan. The box was really light for a pair of winter boots and the boots themselves look to be made of quality materials. The only thing lacking is that the eyelets located at the most stressful point pop out when you tie your boots. I had one pop out on me and my wife told me to return them. I was satisfied and tried to pop it back into place only to find after my work day the eyelet on my other boot popped out as well. That was the last straw and wish they made the lacing system more durable and I would have kept these pair. Now I have a pair of Red Wing boots for around the same price I found on eBay that has 400g of Thinsulate and the lacing system is more durable. They are heavier than the Columbia boots, but the lacing system on the Columbia leaves more to be desired. I am glad others have had more success with them. Amazon refunded my purchase and hopefully find a way to get them repaired.

Extremely dissatisfied

Extremely dissatisfied. Received first pair and wore them for about four hours around the house. When I went to take them off, I noticed that one of the eyelets on the right boot had snapped off. "Okay", I thought, "I'll just send them back and get a replacement." Return process went better than expected and had my new pair in three days.. Pull them out of the box, put the right boot on and the same eyelet snapped off again. Very poor workmanship on a high stress point. Needless to say, these are going back as well, but this time for a refund.I would NOT recommend this product to a friend.

Not a big clunker of a boot

I have been looking for a winter boot for some time and although the weather has not been cold as of latley I can talk about the overall fit of the boot. In a sneaker I'm a 10 1/2 and I have a wide foot I tried these on at Dicks Sporting Goods and was tempted to purchase them there but ended up saving a few bucks buying them online. Important note is that I tried them on there so had a good idea on how this boot would fit. I also tried on the Timberlands and noticed that I needed a size 11 in those boots. I purchased this boot in black and it has sort of a tactical look to it if folks are familiar with Bates boots..they do feel a bit warm but again have not hit near freezing temperatures...I do need to lace this up tight because there is a bit of play in them and I'm happy to say I can get a pair of wool socks in with them...the boots look more narrow than they are and again that's probably because they are black and my pants have no problem going over them. These were purchased for around the house and to and from work so they are not used for hunting in the brush...if you want a meatier boot for this go with the Baffin line but keep in mind that those are a big big boot. Overall very satisfied with this boot and after reading some reviews around customer service at columbia this was another factor in my purchase. Boot does come below the calf and their does not seem to be a significant arch in them..for the money may not be a bad purchase and because we have the prime membership everything comes in two days...as in the past Amazon has yet to give us any issues with the return policy...I'm giving this a four because the warmth of the boot has not been fully tested..

A Quality Product

I bought these cold weather boots for several reasons. I live in southwestern Ohio. And sometimes we get very cold weather with periodic heavy snow and ice (but, not as much as the central and northern parts of Ohio). Well, the first parts of my body that experience the pain of cold weather are my toes and fingers. And, when I go to the Ohio State Buckeye games in late November, I want to be comfortable watching the game no matter where my seats are (only Buckeye fans know what I mean in Ohio Stadium that seats over 106,000 fans). I solved the finger problem; but not the toes. I tried double and triple socks. But after an hour or more in below 20 degree weather; my toes still became numb. A friend told me that I needed a thicker sole boot with the ability to tuck my pants in the shaft of the boot. That made sense, so in my search I found these boots. They have about a 1/2 to 3/4 inch sole from the ground to the inner sole and a thick durable rubber covering of the toes, sides and heal of the boot. Yet, the boot is not like wearing ankle weights. The shaft is well insulated and comes far enough up your lower leg to easily tuck your pants into the shaft of the boot. What was a great surprise to me is that the shaft allows you to tuck your pants legs inside the outer shell of the boot shaft and inner shell of the boot to transfer body heat from your legs inside the boot, while keeping the cold out. Great concept! (probably would sell a lot more of these boots, if that where in the advertised description).In addition to the games, I have a 16 month energetic dog, that is going to love spending more time at the dog park and hiking this winter, now that I have these boots. Too bad he can't write a review.

Buy them fast!

The height, tread, material and weight make these ideal boots for dealing with the snow and ice that I have in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. I would highly recommend them to anyone who deals with inclement weather. Another plus is that they are extremely comfortable and warm.

Very nice boots !

I love this boots, they are very comfortable as you'll expect a pair of trainers will be.I haven`t tried them on snow yet or on slippery conditions but they seem to have very good grip and also, with the boots came an interesting accessory to put on the shoe sole to have more grip, very nice gift !One thing that I didn't saw (and was looking for) in the product description was the statement ¨Water Resistant¨ and when I got my boots, it has it printed on the inside, so if you are also looking for water resistant boots this IceBug's might be a very nice option.
