When Columbia introduced the world's first high-performance winter boot with a built-in heating system two seasons ago, it sold out in a flash. Their newest model, The Columbia Bugathermo Original Electric is back for more winter butt-kicking. It features new Omni-Heat® insulation and an all-new Techlite® shell for supreme lightweight protection, fit and foot guidance. Built with Columbia's most advanced technical winter boot tooling-with waterproof-breathable upper and a lightweight cushioning footbed and midsole-the Thermo features built-in rechargeable batteries and electronic controls that provide three temperature settings for maximum protection from the cold. On the low setting, heating pads located under the ball of the foot deliver warmth for 8 hours; on high, expect 3 hours of heat where your foot needs it most. Rustproof alloy gaiters and convenient speedhooks hold the foot firmly in place for maximum stability during serious mountain trekking, snowmobiling, ski lift operation, or Arctic exploration. Combine these features with The Columbia Bugathermo Electric's durability, waterproof construction and Omni-Grip® traction, and you may very well have the greatest winter boot to walk the earth.

Toasty Toes!!!

I got these for a gift in 2009. The first pair I got was the black and orange ones. During that first winter they kept my feet warm and dry for hours out in the snow and cold. When season 2 came around, the batteries would not take a charge. I called Columbia support and they walked me through a couple of things to do. None of which resolved the issue. They told me to send them in and if it was something that could be fixed, that they would fix it. Otherwise they would send me a different pair. A week or two after I sent them in, I received a new pair of these, free of charge. I charged them and they worked great through the second year. Now with the winter coming fast, I had the opportunity to "test" them for this season and they are working great. We were outside in about 30 degree weather and I didn't even have to turn them on. I love these boots and they are comforable and light enough to wear all day walking around. Columbia stands behind there products, and these will be the only pair of boots that I will own until the batteries die or I do.

Just what I wanted!

Very warm, extremely comfortable, very good looking. If you're feet freeze even in room temperature like mine then don't hesitate to buy these. Very pricey but totally worth it as I was able to enjoy the winter outdoors like never before.

Battery Died after single use

They worked nicely while they worked.After first trip, battery went out. Second battery refused to charge shortly after.I found it hard to find a replacement batteries as well. Being returned to amazon for refund now.
