Great booties by Baffin! Run a little small, here's the size chart and more useful info!

I LOVE these booties (and the Baffin Unisex Cush Insulated Slippers). I got the Cush slippers last year in November and just ordered these as the soles to the Cush slippers are just starting to wear thin (although there's still a few months of life left for sure, the new ones are more to augment the old ones).They are similar to the Cush but are a taller, more adjustable, warmer and with a much thicker sole (this is good and bad. Not quite as comfy in the house but much better insulation from the cold ground). Both are ubber comfy and very warm. If you're going to be using them in a house that is fully/mostly carpeted I would recommend the Cush slippers, if you're going to want light use outside or for camping, or on all hardwood or other hard and colder flooring surface I would recommend the base camp booties.By the time the Cush are completely worn out they would have given me a over a year of use in a house with a mix of (some) hard wood and (mostly) carpet plus many trips out to the car and around the corner to the mailbox. The exterior sole material on the base camp booties is the same as the cush from what I can tell, but there's an additional layer of firmer insulation in the sole of the base camp booties. I expect these booties to last a good 18-24 months. That may not seem like a long time but it's worth it - less toughness, more comfort.I used Kiwi Camp Dry, Heavy Duty Water Repellent on the Cush slippers and that did a great job of waterproofing them. Not to the point where you can walk in puddles but but when I had to run outside in the snow it kept my feet dry (although the Cush slippers were, um, very slippery in the snow. Almost ate it a few times). I'm going to waterproof these base camp booties and I'm thinking they'll even be suitable for treading through small puddles due to the much thicker soles. I'll post back on this one. It is summer and I don't think I'll have a lot of opportunity to use these just yet. I bought them now because they're about $8 less than they were in the winter time. We're going camping in a couple weeks so I report back on how they performed in the field.Like the Cush slippers, these booties run a little small (although not as much as the Cush slippers). Here's the correct sizing chart (came with the booties and is the same sizing guidelines as the Cush slippers):Men: L = 7/8, XL = 9/10, XXL = 11/12, XXXL = 13/14Woman: S = 5/6, M = 7/8, L = 9/10, XL = 11Youth: YS = 10/11, YM = 12/13, YL = 1/2, S = 3/4, M = 5/6I would suggest ordering a size up if you're on the high end of the size if you want room for thick socks. I wear a size 10 shoe and the XL Cush fit bit they're tight with thick socks and the XL base camp booties have just a bit more room.All-in-all both are great booties and I can't recommend them highly enough!Hope this helps!

Can't walk due to paraplegia

Can't walk but I know my feet are warm! These things are great I have two pair and use them for hunting. My feet are toasty warm in these I know because when I touch my feet they are warm. I am paralyzed from the waste down and use them only for hunting and they keep me warm!

though they're cozy and warm, they're slippery and messy too!

I completely agree with this assessment from another reviewer: "...after only 2 days of walking on carpets and tile flooring much of the wording has worn off and now the booties are actually a hazard because they slip and slide." II actually have good balance, but still find these booties to be dangerous. Another minor complaint is that the wording peels off in hundreds of millimeter sized bits, and this mess spreads throughout all of the non-carpeted areas of the house. (We have pergo.) However, my biggest complaint is definitely how slippery these have gotten.I'm sending them back.
